iFundWomen CrowdFunding; Why You Should Care

One of the most remarkable trends over the past decade has been the phenomenal growth in the number of firms owned by women of color. As of 2021, there are an estimated 5.7 million African American women-owned firms, employing 852,000 workers and generating $51.4 billion in revenues, which is why Goldman Sachs is investin110 billion dollarsrs in black women over the next 10 years.

According to womenable.com, women are now the majority owners of 39% of the country’s businesses, up from 27% in 2020.

Despite these amazing gains, Women Entrepreneurs still only receive 2-6% of venture capital funding, but that number is a little bit higher now from help from SBA due to the Covid Pandemic. Female entrepreneurs need to be scrappier and work harder than their male counterparts to get funded. We create companies with 50% less capital. We want to change that. We need your help.

iFundWomen is a whole new way of thinking about crowdfunding, because when one woman’s project gets funded, so does another, and so on, and so on.

  2. I had never heard of this crowdfunding campaign before but I love it! I have been trying to break out from under the boot of the 9 to 5 and become an entrepreneur but as a woman, I feel like I am going up against nothing but men with years of experience. I’ll support anything that supports my fellow ladies! The future is female for sure.
